Who you callin' scrap??

My lovely sister, over at Reaping What I Sow, sent this award/tag to me. I'm not quite sure what it means... I think its something like being "tagged" on Facebook, but it says "Award", so maybe I should take a bow?

I'm supposed to share 10 honest things about myself, which shouldn't be so hard, since I'm a big fan of honesty. Want some juicy secrets...? Hm, maybe. I'm going to try to keep these food-themed!

1. I'm of Italian heritage, yet I've never made lasagna in my life. More than likely my Sunday sauce (or "gravy") is going to be canned-tomatoes-based. The only Italian foods I have really made are meatballs, alfredo sauce, and that first recipe I ever posted -- homemade pasta.

2. When I was vegan, I still ate honey. Oops.

3. I think things like margarine are the roots of evil -- why would you take something as awesome as pure butter, and try to recreate it in a laboratory? Gross! I'll take the real butter any day, and I like my whole milk unpasteurized, my bacon fatty, and my ice cream made with real cream! Don't mess around with my food!

4. I judge Mexican restaurants first and foremost by their chile rellenos. If they aren't good, I probably won't eat there again. If they are good, I might eat there 2-3 times a week.

5. I had never successfully made a batch of chocolate chip cookies, until last month. I think its a sign of maturity... or something.

6. I like playing themed music when I'm cooking -- Edith Piaf for French, Sinatra for Italian...

7. I try to eat all organic and whole foods, most importantly my dairy and meat, but I will absolutely make an exception for hot dogs and cheap beer at a Cubs game.

8. It makes me want to gag when I see people drinking milk. Ick...

9. I'm practically obsessed with getting a house with a yard, for the specific purpose of housing chickens (and goats!) in the city. It's legal in Chicago!

10. I'm going rogue (not Palin-style), and planting tomatoes, peppers, and radishes in buckets on my apartment buildings roof. Cross your fingers that I don't get caught!
